Yesterday we looked at the idea that darkness could actually be the word “not” (ou) in the old and new testament.  We discussed that the light always has power over the darkness just as physical

Is God using death and “not” for his eternal good purposes?  Rom 11:32

light makes the darkness flee when the switch is flipped.  Natural is a reflection of the spiritual.

We saw some of the aspects of the “not” in 1 Cor 13 or the famous “love chapter”.  Most see the love verses, but sometimes miss the “not” verses.   Anytime we are told something is “not” or to “not” do something, we are being fed death via the law.  I believe that we all know in our hearts what is right and wrong.

Paul called ministry of “not” (the old testament) the “ministry of death” in 2 Cor 3:7

But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was 2 Cor 3:7

Is darkness also a form of light?

Mike Tyson isn’t normally known for his quotes, but one stuck with me.  He said in a documentary about him “The darkness is the light”.   There may be some real truth to this since John 1:9 specifically says there exists a “true” light.   Can one then conclude there may also be other forms of light?

Could even darkness itself be a form of light?

For example, what is darkness for man is not for a cat and other animals that can see in the “dark”.

Let’s explore darkness and the powers that rule it and ask some questions while delving in scripture, shall we?

One of the things I have noticed over the years is how perfect scripture is laid out.

Could the verse numbers have a hidden meaning?

Additionally, the verses are all numbered. Do you think their may be a reason for this?

Have you ever thought about this?

Try this experiment sometime. Go through the new testament and look at all 3:3 verses and then all 6:6 verses.

Do you notice how the 3:3 verses pertain to an individual  (tri-part human) and the 6:6 verses pertain to the corporate whole or single, corporate spiritual man?

Pretty amazing, huh?

I have also found that 7 relates to purification.

Have fun with this and consider giving thanks for his perfect Word.
