The “70 weeks of Daniel” – When will the end come?

Good morning God’s beloved!

70 weeks of daniel

When will the 70 weeks of Daniel end?

I pray you are resting in the beautiful “son” today. For me, the son is really shining this morning both in my heart and outside my window after a couple days of “night” of both internal and external darkness. I am so glad the Lord has revealed that a complete day has both “day” and “night” and that “the day always appears when the night is done”.

So, this morning I am enjoying his peace with my two teenage sons as they play their computer games together and online with other “friends”.

Last night a close friend and I spent an hour or more on the phone talking about the amazing “beasts” of Daniel chapter 7. I am so thankful for this particular friend as she is a great “sounding board” for all my crazy, insane thoughts I find in scripture about God’s goodness and love for all mankind. Nothing is too outlandish for her. I also shared with her the darkness of the past couple days and how I believed it was fading.

Thus, I was so excited because I have come to know God allows the darkness so that when the light reappears, we come to deeper understanding and revelation of him. This has been my experience over and over with him and he is so good. During these times, this verse often comes to mind.

always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body 2 Corinthians 4:10

I know that I must carry around in my natural body the death of Jesus. Why? So that his life may ALSO be manifested. God’s ways are so different than the natural ways of man. He says we must experience death first along with Jesus so that we can also experience his life. I have found this is a combination of what those under the law call “sin”, coupled with the persectution of Jesus and his testimony inside us, plus the actual death of our natural body.  It’s all summed up in the one word God calls “death”.

Have you ever thought a while about the verses that say Jesus was the “last Adam” 1 Corinthians 15:45,  “he was made sin” 2 Corinthians 5:21 and “we are his body“? Ephesians 5:30, 1 Corinthians 6:15

This may be a time where we need to take scripture literally.

Could Jesus have actually fully replaced the “first Adam” and also become his and our dying body?   Could we actually be finishing the death of Jesus in our natural bodies so his life will be fully manifested in both us and the world?  Some things to ponder and search the Lord on.

The Book of Daniel and the “70 weeks”

So, I went to sleep last night after a few hours of going through one of my favorite Old Testament Books – the book of Daniel. This book is probably one of the most popular and important books of prophecy in the Old Testament.  The reason I like it is because it tests the boundary between the spirit and the natural mind of man, between God and the natural sciences of the Earth – namely time.

How does God and “time” work together?

I love asking questions like this as I have a naturally, inquisitive and scientific mind.   How we view the events of this book depend on whether we see the Bible in a literal, scientific fashion or a spiritual view or some combination of the two.

Jesus talked of this book and prophet in Matt 24:15-18 and told us of it’s importance of study. Man loves it because God seems to give us literal time hints as to when the end-time events of Revelation will occur. This keeps many people busy predicting end time events. Most of the beginning first 7 chapters of Daniel are about the “King of Babylon”, but Chapter 9 is probably the most famous. So many people have been attempting to figure out the infamous “70 weeks” of Daniel from Chapter 9 where God is going to bring an end to the “transgression” or sin and death itself. Let’s look at the verse:

Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy place. Dan 9:24

This, my friend is one powerful verse when you think about what it says. God says a certain amount of time has been “decreed” or planned for the following events to occur:

  • finish the transgression
  • make an end of sin
  • make atonement for inequity
  • bring in everlasting righteousness
  • seal up vision and prophecy
  • anoint the most holy place

This is one important list to pay close attention to as it involves completely ending “transgression” or what man calls “sin”!

God will bring in everlasting and unending righteousness, he will end prophesy as we will see God with our own eyes, and he will “anoint the most holy place”. This is preparing the human body and soul to have God live in it with us. This is no small list of powerful promises.

When will these most amazing things occur?

God says that there is a PRESET amount of time that was “decreed” by God himself as part of his sovereign plan to fulfill these awesome promises. That time is “70 weeks”. How long is that? Is that 70 weeks on our Earthly calendar? It could be and many of the “end-times” folks take this “literal” approach and believe it is 70 weeks on our calendar. They have created elaborate systems of specific days and years when the end times events will occur or have occured based on our Earthly time calendar. This is called a “literal” interpretation as it is based on the things we see and know in our physical realm, namely time.

Can we interpret these according to our literal earthly calendar?

That is ultimately for God to reveal to you personaly, but of course I am going to share what I believe God has revealed to me.  God could make the things that will occur line up with our history and time calendar. This could be the past or the future. I believe he does this to throw off natural man so he will NOT know the true spirtual meaning of what he is saying. This makes man believe a carnal or natural understanding of the Bible and not the true, spiritual meaning. Thus, he will not know the truth via his own human wisdom and he has to learn it when God makes it visible for him. Look at these verses:

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.”

20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For indeed Jews ask for signs and Greeks search for wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews a stumbling block and to Gentiles foolishness, 24 but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong 1 Corinthians 1:27

I am convinced based on the above verses that man will never be able to figure out Gods plan from any earthly scientific means, calculations, or human intelligence. God’s ways and plan are hidden in a realm and person called Christ that natural man can not yet see at all unless God himself reveals it to him. Thus, God does not do things in a way that man can figure out based on the things we can understand based on our senses or logic. This is so “no man can boast in his presence” and he will get all the glory and credit. Ephesians 2:9, 1 Corinthians 1:29

The Truth comes via “Faith” from WITHIN Us

The things of God or the truth must come by faith from within and not externally via our calendar or human intelligence. So, how long are the “70 weeks” of Daniel 9:24? I am confident these are not 70 “literal” or earthly calendar weeks, but are 70 “spiritual” weeks.  “Spiritual” time simply means it’s already done in the true realm of the Spirit, but only God controls when it appears or “manifests” in the realm of space and time.  This is just like the “7 days of creation” IMHO are 7 spiritual days and not literal 24 hour days on the Earthly clock.  (Please keep in mind, they still CAN be 7 literal 24 hour days, but that is not what God wants to tell us.) Thus, man does not know exactly how long either of them are in earthly linear time and not all of the “7 days” have fully appeared yet in time.

Spiritual “time” Vs. Earthly Natural time on our Calendar

As I just mentioned, I am confident the truth of the “7 days of creation” are not literal 24 hour days, but are spiritual days of an unknown length of earthly time. However, me must realize that they could have also been literal 24 hour days, but the natural meaning is never the real thing God wants to share.  All space and time will eventually be done away with as it does not exist in the true realm of the Spirit. The point we want to always ask is “what is the true, deeper, spiritual meaning God is telling us here?” This is the deeper truth or the real meaning in the spirit. Let me show you what I mean.

God’s 7th Day of Rest

I believe most of mankind today is in the “6th (spiritual) day” which is the day man was created and ruled the earth. Genesis 1:27,31 It is the day that man “works” for his “bread” and sustance as it is a day under law or “natural” life which God really calls “death”. Because this day is under law, it is a time where man is striving to stay “alive” due to resulting sin, darkness and death. However, some of us have been fortunate enough for the Lord to have revealed the way across the Jordan into the “7th spiritual day”.  This is “God’s true sabbath” or his “day of rest” where we rest from all our works. See Genesis 2:2 & Hebrews 4:10 God has revealed to those fortunate folks that Christ has fulfilled all the law for everyone and the work is finished. Moses is DEAD for them and they can rest from their efforts to fulfill the law.  Joshua 1:2 They continue to live normal lives, but at the same time rest each moment in the promise of the finished work and wait for God to make it manifest in space and time or their “experience”.

God’s true rest of his 7th spiritual day is realizing the truth of Joshua 1:2 that “Moses is dead” and the law is fulfilled.

They are simply “walking” in the “manifested” work that God had already finished in the true spiritual realm, before the world was created.  Ephesians 2:10! Even though man fell into the works of law and was plunged into the darkness on the 6th spiritual day, the full and complete restoration of all the things of the 6th day was already applied!  That’s right, the lamb was already slain from before the creation (foundation) of the world! God already fully fixed the problem BEFORE it even occured in space and time! Look at these verses:

By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done Genesis 2:7

For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His Hebrews 4:10

All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast–all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life, the Lamb who was slain from the creation of the world Revelation 13:8

but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. 20 For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has appeared in these last times for the sake of you 1 Peter 1:19-20

My friend, please think about what these verses really are saying!  Don’t let the word “foreknown” in 1 Peter 1:20 take you into unbelief.  It does not mean that this work was not completed before the world was created. This means that it was done in truth before the creation or “foundation” of the World. It WAS done BEFORE the world was created, but it simply wasn’t yet visible or manifested in the realm of the law where we are now in our experience. God is 100% reliable and his plan will ALWAYS MANIFEST.  The actual Greek word we translate as “foreknown” is:

proginóskó: to know beforehand

As you can see it is often defined as “to know beforehand”. I want to share with you it’s even better than that as “know beforehand” is a “time-based” perspective of man.  Unfortunately, man from his time and space-based perspective stumbles on this word due to our finite minds.  Sadly the meaning often gets twisted in unbelief and thus negates the awesome promises and very Words of God themselves.

I want your faith to be rock-solid and not be built upon the sands of man’s thoughts!

Is Everything Really FINISHED in the SPIRIT? If so, how do we see them?

In the realm of the spirit everything is already done and finished from the 7th “spiritual day” when God rested. All events of all people of all time are done. God is already at the end of all time and the end of the history of all events, but we are still moving towards him in our time-based, linear “experience”.  History has been already fully written according to God’s sovereign will and plan from beginning to end. These things are already TRUTH and in God’s view they are fully completed because he need only make them appear in space and time. Psalm 139:16 God is 100% reliable and can NOT lie! His view is what we call the “spirit” or simply the “truth”. This is also called the “true reality” or simply truth because they need only appear or “manifest” in the realm we live in called Earth which is under “space and time”.  The realm of Earth only see’s one spot in time and all things are separated by space.  Not so in the spirit realm where all is one.

Every event of all people of all time that God said will occur absolutely will occur and it is impossible for it NOT to occur.  God can NOT lie, it’s impossible.  Hebrews 6:18, Titus 1:2

The Truth Can only be Seen by God-given Faith from Within a Person

I cannot say this enough times and thus why I keep repeating it.  Man can not yet see the future events with his physical “eyes” (really his entire human experience) but can with spiritual eyes inside his heart called “faith”. Only faith from within will allow a person to believe them. This “faith” is also called our “living hope” inside us as it allows us to “see” future events and promises as if they have already happened. This is what pleases God greatly as it shows trust in him. See Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him Hebrews 11:6

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see Hebrews 11:11

Faith is believing the “living hope” or assurance from within you that God WILL make appear what he says already occurred according to his Word. The things that we can prove, calculate or make happen ourselves are NOT OF FAITH! Those are of the law or the outer, external man. Those things do not please God as they are not done from a position of simply trusting him at his Word.  The truth is that the Kingdom of Heaven is WITHIN YOU!   Ponder the very words of Jesus and be amazed:

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you  Luke 17:21

By “foreknown” in 1 Peter 1:20, is God simply looking ahead “in time” and integrating man’s “free will” choice?

From man’s perspective which is in space and time, he often teaches that God is “looking ahead into time” and even “integrated into his plan what man would choose”.  This teaching is based on the idea that “God won’t interfere with man’s free will“.  Is this biblical?   ABSOLUTELY NOT!

This my friend is a complete and utter deception that is complete refuted and destroyed all over scripture!

See Job 37:13, Psalm 78:46, Ecclesiastes 8:17, Psalm 2:1-4, Psalm 139:16, John 1:13, Ephesians 2:8-9, James 1:18, 1 Peter 1:3, Titus 3:5, Philippians 2:13, Romans 9:16, Ephesians 2:4, 1 Corinthians 6:11, 2 Timothy 1:9, Ephesians 5:26, 1 Peter 2:10, Romans 11:6 just to name a few!   Look at just these two verses as they DESTROY this false teaching.

So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy  Romans 9:16

who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God  John 1:13

Do you see how powerfully blinding the natural religious mind based on law is?

The truth that the Bible teaches is that there is no such thing as “free will” as man teaches it!  This false doctrine or teaching of God is called a “stronghold” as it blocks and blinds us from the truth.  2 Corinthians 10:4.  Sadly, it has kept so many people in bondage to darkness and unbelief for centuries!  I speak strongly because I want ALL to KNOW they are FREE!

Contrary to what this false teaching says, man is not the engine of the train and God is the caboose.  Man thinks he is the engine, but he’s not.  I do this too!  It is the other way around. Man follows God’s plan and not vice versa. Man is just totally blind in his natural state to see or know what God is really doing.  Natural man thinks he is “running the show” and he’s not. I do this myself! God always has him right where he wants him regardless of circumstances. This is a GOOD THING! I certainly don’t want to be in charge of my own ETERNAL destiny! I love trusting God to care for me.

The “truth” of Free Will

Quite frankly, there isn’t any truth to the doctrine of “free will”.  It’s not supported in scripture at all!   All events that occur in space and time God has fully planned from beginning to end. God does allow free “choices”, but ultimately each person will end up where he wants them. He controls the “exits” to the maze of life for each person and they always end up where he wants you to be no matter what choices a person makes. I have shared on this false teaching quite a bit on this site, so please check out the index to find more. So, please know that when we hear the word “foreknew” it really means that it was fully done at that time but simply hasn’t yet “appeared” or “manifested” in the realm of space and time. It will, we just have to wait for it. God is completely and 100% reliable.

Let me give you an example of God “foreknowing”.

Lets pretend someone from another planet that didn’t understand time came to earth. At 10am, I tell them to “watch the clock because after 11:59, 12 o’clock will appear”.  Of course, after 11:59, it did occur and was “truth”.  However, when was it true?

Both of us “foreknew” this would happen at 10am. So, was it true at 10am that “12 oclock would appear after 11:59”?  YES!  It was TRUE at 10am and at ALL TIMES, but it simply had not yet occurred or “manifested”.  Do you see how powerful this is?  This gives us a small glimpse of how God can speak truth at any time and it WILL happen.  His very words ARE truth and man has no way of impacting or changing the truth.  Only God does and IS truth.

The pure and simple truth is this: God’s work was finished and “true” from before the creation of the world. It just has not yet fully manifested or “appeared” in space and time.

Here is more proof to show that God has prepared all these things already existed and were true before the world was created.

“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world Matt 25:34

This Kingdom was prepared for those that God chose from BEFORE the foundation or “creation” of the World. Remember, God is not inside time nor affected by it. He is fully present at all locations in time (and all places in space!) at once. This is called the doctrine of his “omnipresence” in Christianity.

So, my friend, we can rest know that God’s promises are as good as completed. Totally FINISHED! We just haven’t yet seen them all. This was all done before we we were even born as a human!

Another Example of God (Spirit) and “Time” (Natural)

The Bible also tells us that “with God a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day”. 2 Peter 3:8 It this a literal formula?

My scientific, human mind would love that because then I could plug all the times into the formula and calculate exactly how long God means, but he simply will not have that. That would not be faith. I understand that verse to mean “God is outside of time and time is irrelevant to God”. He is fully present and actively working at all points in time. That’s hard for us to grasp in our outer natural, human minds and must come from our deeper, inner man who is Christ himself!

When is the end of the “70 Weeks of Daniel”?

Sorry to drag you this long to finally answer this question.  The truth is we don’t know how “long” according to our earthly time calendars before the end “appears”.  In other words, we don’t know when God will make the promises APPEAR in the realm of space and time on Earth.  However, I hope you see that they are already ALL COMPLETED in the true realm of the Spirit where all work is fully finished!  Genesis 2:1, John 19:30  We are just waiting for them to “appear” in space and time where we live.

My Conclusion

I have come to realize that all the work was completely finished in the true and highest spiritual realm of Heaven on the 7th “spiritual” day of God from Genesis 2:7.  God then came as Jesus and brought that finished work to the spiritual realm of Earth at the cross and thus fulfilled the Law in this realm.  This is when Jesus said “it is finished” in John 19:30.  We are simply waiting in time for that finished work to appear or manifest in the lowest and darkest realm of the human body and soul.  This is our daily experience and we call this day his “returning” or “reappearing”.  The Bible calls it “the Day of the Lord”. These are the very 3 realms of both Earth and man himself.  God loves the number “3”.

To find out when they will appear in time, God does give many clues that more relate to order of events as they relate to “signs”. Another important clue he uses in his wonderful mystery is the actual numbers often assigned to events.

I think it’s very good to ask yourself “What does this number represent in the true realm of the Spirit?” Where else does he use this number? What is it’s real meaning? For example, God loves the numbers 7, 70, 3, 12, and 40. I believe they are more of spiritual signs or deeper spiritual meanings. Sometimes in one verse he will say something will be “70 weeks” and in another verse when he talks of the same event, he says “7 periods of time”, “7 years” and even “7 days”. Obviously, the number 7 is what is important to ask him to reveal what it means. It’s not a literal number that we think. It has deeper spiritual meaning.

One of the most valuable tools that I uses is this online cross references site.  It has proven to be one of the most powerful things God has used to help me find deeper spiritual meanings.  I do hope he will use it to reveal to you deep and amazing things.  May his written and spoken word from the outside, meet his very LIVING Word of Christ himself inside you and spring forth his life!

Well, I hope that I gave you some things to think about as it pertains to the “70 weeks of Daniel” and how God relates to time. I pray that the words I shared gave your heart some peace and assurance that our loving father is in complete and total control of our salvation from “beginning” to “end”.  So we can rest each moment of each day.  That is the real battle IMHO, to stay in a place of rest and trust that all is done and finished.  The World system that is under law is always trying to convince us otherwise because under law nothing is completed or whole.  Don’t fall for it.  “Be still and know I am God” is a verse that comes to mind often.

I pray that you would take these things I shared and dig into his Word yourself and ask him to reveal the truth to you.  He will always respond to a willing heart that is seeking truth at all costs.

Maybe next time, he will allow me to actually share what I have found the Kingdoms are of Daniel 7? That is what I sat down to do, but he must have had other plans.

God bless you today.

Duane
