Is Christ BOTH First Adam AND Last Adam?

Was Jesus both the first AND the last Adam?

What did Jesus mean when he said “I am the first an the last”?

I have stumbled upon something that is very big and amazing to me!  It may some take big, grandiose thinking to see so maybe you have to be a little crazy like me?  You really have to be insane enough to believe that anything really is possible with God.

Recently, I was thinking about the verse that says the “first” Adam was a living soul and the “last” Adam was a life-giving spirit.  Then immediately, I heard the whisper in my thoughts from Revelation “I AM the first AND the LAST“!

WHAT???   Could Christ be BOTH the First Adam AND the Last Adam?

Wow! I stopped to sit still as I was shocked.  If what I am hearing is true, this is HUGE and powerfully amazing.  Suddenly those “new age” sounding verses in Colossians are starting to make sense!  Could Jesus be BOTH the first Adam (firstborn of ALL creation) AND the LAST Adam as a life-giving spirit (plus ALL in-between!)?

Could the “first” Adam that we are familiar with ALSO have been Christ himself in disguise?  Scripture does tell us that Christ was the “firstborn” and the “beginning of all creation” and also the last Adam who is the completion of creation.  Then, holding it all together was his death in the middle?   Look at Colossians 1:17

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together Colossians 1:17  If Christ is both the beginning (first Adam) and the end or the last Adam, wouldn’t this make him “all” and “in all” like Colossians 3:11 says?

Check out these verses that I gathered together for you.  They tell quite an amazing story of one BEAUTIFUL and VERY BIG GOD named Jesus who is all and in all!   Remember, in Gods plan we have to experience death (via the Law or “ministry of death”) first.   Then, we get to experience (eternal) life.  John 12:24, 1 Corinthians 15:46

Enjoy.

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation  Colossians 1:15

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them Genesis 1:27

So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:45

When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last Revelation 1:17

The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. 1 Corinthians 15:47

“Who has performed and accomplished it, Calling forth the generations from the beginning? ‘I, the Lord, am the first, and with the last. I am He.’”  Isaiah 41:4

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” Revelation 22:13

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit John 12:24

For just as the Father has life in Himself, even so He gave to the Son also to have life in Himself  John 5:26

For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living  Romans 14:9

by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace Ephesians 2:15

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.  1 Corinthians 12:13

There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling Ephesians 4:4

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”  Revelation 21:5

Do you see the powerful correlation above?

Here is more supporting scripture to show that Christ really is ALL and IN all per Colossians 3:11.

“Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last. Isaiah 48:12

Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says,

“Sacrifice and offering You have not desired, But a body You have prepared for Me Hebrews 10:5

then the LORD God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature  Genesis 2:7

And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says,

“And let all the angels of God worship Him.” Hebrews 1:6

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together  Colossians 1:17

a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.  Colossians 3:11

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is accursed”; and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.  1 Corinthians 12:3

Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit 1 Corinthians 12:4-6

There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons 1 Corinthians 12:6

And there are varieties of the same Lord.  1 Corinthians 12:5

But if the ministry of death, in letters engraved on stones, came with glory, so that the sons of Israel could not look intently at the face of Moses because of the glory of his face, fading as it was,  2 Corinthians 3:7

and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;  1 Corinthians 10:2

And they said to him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “The cup that I drink you will drink, and with the baptism with which I am baptized, you will be baptized  Mark 10:39

by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace Ephesians 2:15

For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all, therefore all died  2 Corinthians 5:14

Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death?  Romans 6:3

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.  1 Corinthians 12:13

even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,  Ephesians 2:5-6

Now you are Christ’s body, and individually members of it.  1 Corinthians 12:27

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.  John 6:35

Since there is one bread, we who are many are one body; for we all partake of the one bread.  1 Corinthians 10:17

And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”  Revelation 21:5

a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all.  Colossians 3:11

and you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning John 15:27

What do you think…    Do you see it?   I pray the Lord will reveal to all of us his BIG and wonderful plan for all of mankind.

God bless,

Duane
