Basic building block of the realm of darkness that man is made of that brings about repentance (changing our minds). God calls the ruling realm of darkness Samaria and the very darkest place Sheol. It contains “iron” or the law. God’s first love Israel who I believe are the “sons of God” broke God’s law and he cast them “into the dust”.
Isaiah 5:24 Therefore, as a tongue of fire consumes stubble
And dry grass collapses into the flame,
So their root will become like rot and their blossom blow away as dust;
For they have rejected the law of the Lord of hosts
And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Job 30:19 “He has cast me into the mire,
And I have become like dust and ashes.

Revive me according to Your word.

And say, “Return, O children of men.”
Psalm 22:15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And my tongue cleaves to my jaws;
And You lay me in the dust of death.
Psalm 7:5 Let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it;
And let him trample my life down to the ground
And lay my glory in the dust. Selah.

Our body cleaves to the earth
Job 28:2 “Iron is taken from the dust,
And copper is smelted from rock.
Job 42:6 Therefore I retract,
And I repent in dust and ashes.
Psalm 102:13-15 You will arise and have compassion on Zion;
For it is time to be gracious to her,
For the appointed time has come.
14 Surely Your servants find pleasure in her stones
And feel pity for her dust.
15 So the nations will fear the name of the Lord
And all the kings of the earth Your glory.
Psalm 113:7 He raises the poor from the dust
And lifts the needy from the ash heap
Your dead will live;
Their corpses will rise.
You who lie in the dust, awake and shout for joy,
For your dew is as the dew of the dawn,
And the earth will give birth to the departed spirits
Psalm 22:29 All the prosperous of the earth will eat and worship,
All those who go down to the dust will bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep his soul alive.
Psalm 18:42 Then I beat them fine as the dust before the wind;
I emptied them out as the mire of the streets.
Job 17:16 “Will it go down with me to Sheol?
Shall we together go down into the dust?”
Job 40:13 “Hide them in the dust together;
Bind them in the hidden place.
Job 20:11 “His bones are full of his youthful vigor,
But it lies down with him in the dust.
1 Kings 20:10 Ben-hadad sent to him and said, “May the gods do so to me and more also, if the dust of Samaria will suffice for handfuls for all the people who follow me.”
Job 21:26 “Together they lie down in the dust,
And worms cover them.

2 Kings 23:12 The altars which were on the roof, the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord, the king broke down; and he smashed them there and threw their dust into the brook Kidron.
2 Kings 23:15 Furthermore, the altar that was at Bethel and the high place which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, had made, even that altar and the high place he broke down. Then he demolished its stones, ground them to dust, and burned the Asherah.
Nehemiah 4:2 He spoke in the presence of his brothers and the wealthy men of Samaria and said, “What are these feeble Jews doing? Are they going to restore it for themselves? Can they offer sacrifices? Can they finish in a day? Can they revive the stones from the dusty rubble even the burned ones?”
Job 2:12 When they lifted up their eyes at a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky.
‘How much more those who dwell in houses of clay,
Whose foundation is in the dust,
Who are crushed before the moth!
“For affliction does not come from the dust,
Nor does trouble sprout from the ground,
“By day they meet with darkness,
And grope at noon as in the night.
15 “But He saves from the sword of their mouth,
And the poor from the hand of the mighty.
16 “So the helpless has hope,
And unrighteousness must shut its mouth.
“Why then do You not pardon my transgression
And take away my iniquity?
For now I will lie down in the dust;
And You will seek me, but I will not be.”
