Is God really “Love”?

Is God Love?

Is God Love?

Good afternoon,

I pray you are hearing the Spirit within you today and following his voice into rest regardless of circumstances.  Actually, I believe you are because his voice sounds just like our own thoughts and we often follow it instinctively without even know it.  I sat down to share more about God’s “fire” and how it is refining and purifying in a loving, disciplining way and not destructive, but he had other plans I guess.

So, I guess he wants to share about how God is “Love”.  No problem here as I am just a passenger.  I don’t even know how to drive the car and keep it on the road!

Have you ever asked yourself how God can be “love” and yet forever punish or “destroy” someone in an eternally tormenting and destructive fire for “rejecting him” or for not being “perfect”?

It doesn’t make any sense, does it?  It didn’t for me either and I am so glad I didn’t accept the answers that I was told to believe that were then followed up with “you can’t know the things of God” if you persisted.  “Maybe we can’t, but isn’t that why Jesus came?  To reveal God to us, according to Luke 10:22?  That just doesn’t sound like the God I am reading about in the Bible”, I would think. I am so glad I listened to him from within as he revealed who he really is from his love letter to us we call the Bible.  It’s right there in his Word so you can be encouraged yourself.  Friend, it is so good and we have so much to learn about the entire Old Testament and why God often appears angry and wrathful.  I hope to share something very big and very important in the next day or so regarding this.

What about his “fire” and the “lake of fire” where people are tossed into?

Or is God destructive, tormenting fire?

Or is God destructive, tormenting fire?

There is so much to share here and I can assure you that it is all very good.  You have nothing to worry about as long as you are not trusting in your own self efforts under law.  Unfortunately, this is where most find themselves because most Churches are still teaching people to be under law.  But, God is waking us up!  Law also includes the Ten Commandments but it even beyond that.  It is doing anything to make yourself more acceptable to God.  This is called the “law” or being “under the law”.  Remember, the law is the strength of sin as it brings about God’s wrath!  1 Corinthians 15:56, Romans 3:20, Romans 4:15  It is the very ministry of death headed up by the God who has the power of death.  2 Corinthians 3:7, 2 Corinthians 3:9, Hebrews 2:14 ESV (Check out the Aramaic Bible in Plain English version of this verse!)

If you find yourself under law thinking things like “I should” or “I shouldn’t”, don’t fret.  This is God waking you up too!  This is where all of us start our existence – under law, and this whole current world is still under law.  Our father God and Lord Jesus will begin to reveal this and teach you in a loving way the truth just like any loving father would do only so much better.  As mentioned, ALL MANKIND is still under law and the power of death ever since God said to Adam “Do not eat of that tree”.  God will also teach us how to come out from under it as it is the very power of separation some still call “sin” that is in our human bodies.  He will reveal Jesus inside us who is the complete and total fulfillment and end of the Law and sin.  Romans 10:4, John 1:29, Hebrews 9:26

He loves us exactly as we are and if he wants us to change, he will do it.

We are so free, just to live each day to the fullest!  Will his loving teaching and discipline be without “trials by fire“?  Absolutely not!  Any discipline requires pain, struggle, and testing.  This is the real purpose of God’s loving and refining fire as you will see.  His purposes are FOR you not against you.  God calls this process being “cultivated and sown” in Ezekiel 36:9.  Regarding God’s “fire”, have you spent some time thinking about Luke 3:16?  It says Jesus will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and fire“.  Mark 9:49 says “All will be salted with fire“.  Is not “salting” a purifying and preserving process?  God’s fire will purify and remove all the darkness called “death” or “the flesh” that is still inside our natural bodies.  This already was fully completed for all people at the cross and will manifest or show up in our lives according to his allotted time for each person. Romans 9:18, 1 Timothy 2:6, Romans 16:25-26, Matthew 13:11, Isaiah 29:11, Luke 3:6, Isaiah 52:10, Isaiah 40:5, Psalm 98:2 His very life will “swallow up” death and then his life will spring forth.  Isaiah 25:8, 1 Corinthians 15:54, 2 Corinthians 5:4  His ways are so amazing and awesome!

Here is one that will amaze and astound you.

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit 1 Corinthians 12:13

Contrary to popular, yet non-biblical religious Christian teaching based on fear, “all” doesn’t just mean some or part, it means everyone.  Adam was ONE man, but he was also all mankind!  What Jesus did at the cross, he did for and TO Adam, not for or to individual people.   He did it for and TO all people of all times!  1 Corinthians 15:22  Each person will know of this in their soul according to God’s plan for each person over the ages. 1 Timothy 2:6  Christ himself is the very veil that separates man’s soul or daily experience from his true self, his spirit-man.  Hebrews 10:20 This is so beautiful because human will or efforts play no part in any of the salvation process.  John 1:13, 1 Peter 1:3, Titus 3:5, Romans 9:16!  Human will and belief is in the natural,  soul realm, but God works on the other side of the veil in the true person – your spirit-man or “heart“.  Ezekiel 36:26, Jeremiah 24:7, Deuteronomy 30:6

You are completely in your loving fathers hands and he will take care of you.  Everything that comes along whether it appears “good” or “bad”, is by his perfect plan as you too are being led into the “wilderness” for refining as part of the body of Christ.  Matthew 4:1, Malachi 3:2  You, too, will learn to let go of the self will of the flesh or darkness still inside all human bodies. Not all will experience this “letting go” in this current age as God’s plan is spread of many ages and he makes all see the truth according to his plan. Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:26, 2 Timothy 1:9, Luke 3:6  The rest remain blind until their time.  Romans 9:18, 1 Timothy 2:6, Romans 16:25-26, Matthew 13:11, Isaiah 29:11, Luke 3:6, Isaiah 52:10, Isaiah 40:5, Psalm 98:2!

Should we “fear” God?

This is one that we are commonly taught that we should actually be afraid of God.  That is not what the Bible teaches under the true Covenant that Christ revealed.  Under the Old Covenant which was only a “shadow” and not the true substance or the truth, we were to fear the God of the Old Covenant.  What if you found out this was a different God under the Old Covenant and to “fear” the one true God meant to worship him?  Look at the very words of Jesus in Luke 4:8:

Jesus answered him, “It is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'”  Luke 4:8

Jesus was actually quoting Deuteronomy 6:13 which says “”You shall fear only the LORD your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name“.  Do you see how Jesus revealed to us the TRUE meaning of the word “fear”?  The true meaning of “fear” is to worship!  No, you should not be afraid of God.  Here is another reason and remember, God is love so you can replace the word “love” with “God”.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love 1 John 4:18

My friend, you have NOTHING to fear about God.

Regarding his fire and “the lake of fire”, if you haven’t seen what I shared last time when I wrote about God’s fire, please check it out here.  I have received a lot of very good feedback on it and I am so happy that others are seeing these most-powerful truths.  Isn’t God so gracious to be revealing to us the truth these days?  I am sorry to report that he has been so misrepresented for so long as a mean and angry God who destroys those who don’t love him back.  We are beginning to understand that is not him as scripture tells us very plainly and for this we can celebrate

So, who is this God who “salts” or purifies us and makes us like him with his Holy, refining “fire”?

My friend, look at this verse.  It will give you such peace and rest inside as it tells you what God “is” or his very essence.

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love 1 John 4:8

We are told point-blank that “God is love”.  This is who he “is” or his very essence.  All else has to fit into that paradigm and if it doesn’t we have to set it aside until he shows us where it goes.  So, if God is “love”, what is “love”?

He tells us what love is in 1 Corinthians 13.

Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

Love never fails

We learn that “love” is the following amazing list and since God IS Love, we can replace the word “love” with the word “God”.

“God” is: patient
“God” is kind
“God” is not jealous
“God” doesn’t brag
“God” isn’t arrogant
“God” does not seek his own
“God” is not provoked
God does NOT take into account a wrong suffered
God does not rejoice in unrighteousness
God bears ALL things
God believes ALL things
God hopes ALL things
God endures ALL things.

I love this one.

God NEVER fails.  Think about these verses knowing that “God NEVER fails”.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him John 3:17  (btw, man added the word “might” in the translation from the Greek.  See here and look at all the other ways it is translated on the right side in red.)  The Aramaic Bible in Plain English has the most faith-filled translation IMHO.

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9

One of my personal favorites.

For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive 1 Corinthians 15:22

My friend, if anyone tells or teaches you of a God that is different who doesn’t fit into the true definition of love or one that you should be afraid of, that is NOT God.  These things we discussed are ALWAYS true of your father God who is love, can not tell a lie, and who never changes.  1 John 4:8, Hebrews 6:18, Malachi 3:6

Doesn’t that give you rest in your heart?  That is the true rest of the Lord’s 7th day.  It’s arriving!

God bless,

Duane
