Are We Nearing the End of the Church Age? Is the “Son of Perdition” being Revealed?

The words of the Lord at the table keep coming back to me at times when I am thinking about the Old Covenant of Law Vs. New and True Covenant of Grace.  I hear “go and do what you must do” when he talks to Judas Iscariot to go and betray Jesus.  I know this is taught quite often of how “evil” he was by betraying Jesus, but do we realize this was all by God’s plan?

Look at the very Words of Jesus.

“While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled John 17:2 NASB

Do we really understand and see what this is saying?

God’s plan WILL OCCUR and he has planned it from the beginning of time that one of the twelve WOULD betray him.  He WOULD turn over Christ to the religious, self-righteous Pharisees who were under the covenant of law or the “ministry of death” (condemnation), so they could kill him.  This is ALL part of God’s plan from BEFORE ANYTHING was ever created.  God’s plan WILL be fulfilled.

Here is a couple amazing things to ponder.

  • Judas was called the “son” of perdition (destruction).  Even though he betrayed Jesus, he was still called a “son”.  It was his destiny that he would suffer “perdition”, but he was still a “son” of God.   Could we maybe have misunderstood what real “perdition” or destruction or “perishing” is?  What ever it is, it is by God’s sovereign plan and his very essence is LOVE.
  • Could this also be why unbelievers are sometimes called “sons of disobedience”?
  • I strongly believe that the “12 disciples” are but a TYPE or picture/sign of the entire WORLD itself.  That in God’s true reality he has 12 “tribes” on Earth and each have a plan or destiny to fulfill.  This plan was “prepared beforehand that we should walk in it”.  Remember Matt 24:30 and Revelation 1:7 where it says “all the tribes on the Earth will morn”?  I don’t think he was talking about the Native Americans.

With that in mind, think about this idea.

The death and resurrection of Jesus did not come until the “man of perdition” or Judas was revealed and he betrayed Jesus to the people who used the LAW to kill him.  All of this has a divine reason and purpose.  I believe it is but a TYPE and SHADOW or a sign of what is going to and already is BEGINNING to happen in our physical world NOW.  Look at this verse:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition 2 Thes 2:3

Paul is telling us the “Day of the Lord” or his reappearing will NOT come until the “falling away from the truth” occurs and the “Man of perdition” or man of destruction is revealed first.  So, if I am onto the truth here, we need to figure out who the “man of Perdition” is today.  Let’s ask some questions.

What does this “man of perdition” rely on to destroy Christ?

Well, what did Judas rely on to kill Jesus?  Answer: the LAW  Judas went to those who were under the law and they used the power of the law to kill Jesus (truth).  THE LAW KILLED THE TRUTH!  So, whoever this is today, this “son of perdition” is under law and will use the law to kill.  Never forget that the law is the very Ministry of Condemnation and Death which ALWAYS KILLS anyone who is under it.  The end will NOT come until this “man of perdition” who uses the Law and commandments to kill Christ, is REVEALED to the World at large.

So, wasn’t Jesus killed already?  Yes, Jesus the physical man was killed, but he still has a body that is still net yet eternally alive.  Could the rest of this body need to finish “dying”?

So, who is the “body of Christ”?  We are, his true body or “the Church”.

Could the end come when God reveals to the World the “son of Perdition” – those who are currently administering law (and death) to the rest of the body of Christ?

If so, it looks like this day is very near because we are finally seeing the TRUE purpose of the law.  We are also seeing those who trust in the law instead of Christ.

It looks like the “man of lawlessness” and “son of perdition” is about to be revealed.  Just read the things God is showing his body about “the strength of sin is THE LAW”.  Could the very people we trust with our spiritual life be part of the “man of Perdition”?  Could the very ones who are eating the bread at the table with us be part of him?  I believe that is what scripture says.  Praise the Lord that he is always taking care of us.

And he is going to be revealed before Christ reappears!

Could that be why simple people like me suddenly have this FIRE inside to share these things?  I don’t know.  I do know that  I am NOT a “Bible scholar”.  I am just a simple, everyday, ordinary person who fixes computers and does IT work.  This “fire” simply does NOT go away and some days I can spend 10 hours or more in the Word “connecting the dot’s” of God’s wonderful mystery.   It’s been there for 2+ years now and I HAD to start a blog or I’d explode.

One final thought. What is “lawlessness”?

Ask God to reveal the true meaning of “lawlessness” under the New and TRUE Covenant.  It’s not what it appears to be nor what we are commonly taught.  Here are some verses to think about.

I think we may be in for a HUGE wake up call on the law and it’s purpose.  Those who teach it and trust in it for any goodness are in for a big surprise.  God will reveal this to all mankind, including those who are currently under law (the “flesh”) and are veiled to the truth.  This wonderful truth will be manifest in that day.

What a DAY that will be!

God bless.
