Things we miss from Genesis

Good afternoon,

The Lord continues to surprise me with what I hear about “Peter” and “Simon”.  Ever notice all the “Simon’s” in the 4 gospels?  Simon, Simon Peter, Simon the Leper, Simon the Pharisee, Simon the tanner, Simon the Zealot (Canaanite!), Simon Iscariot, Simon of Cyrene.  Here is a search if you are interested:

Today, I want to share a few things that he is impressing upon me about Genesis and the creation.  I believe we can’t see the true gospel until we understand the truth of Genesis and our creation.

Point 1: God is outside of all time and space.

Please remember when reading his Word that just because we as human’s think that something occurred in the past, that is not necessarily true.  God can make something happen at ANY time, past present or future.  Personally, I believe MUCH of the Bible has yet to occur in this current realm or “version” of Earth including parts of the creation account.

Crazy, huh?

Point 2:  The sixth and the seventh days are very special.

Please notice that all the other days of Genesis are simply called “one day”, “a second day”, “a third day”, “a fourth day”, “a fifth day”.  However, notice what he calls them when mentioning days 6 and 7.

God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day Gen 1:31

By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done Gen 2:2

Do you see how he calls them “the” sixth and seventh day vs. “a” second day?  See how the word “the” is in front of them?

Guess how many of these there are?  ONLY ONE of each.  They are very special, spiritual days.  As you know, in day six he created (birthed) man (in more than one image) and the seventh day is one he set aside for rest.  Are these normal, 24 hour natural days?

They are spiritual days of unknown length determined by God himself.  The word “ages” would be more appropriate but they are very special days.  That is why there is only ONE of each.  Day 7 is very special.  It’s a day of rest.

Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

Did you notice exactly what it says?  It says “IN” the seventh day, “he” rested from the work he had “created” (bara-birthed) and “made” (asah’ – prepared)

Does this mean that God is resting right now?  Well, let’s see the words of Jesus in John 5:17.

But He answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working.”  John 5:17

The word “now” is the Greek word “arti” which means right now, this present moment.  Here’s a link to it:

So, how can this be if God rested in the 7th day?   The answer is so easy that we run right by it.

We have NOT YET arrived at “THE” seventh spiritual day!

Please ponder this, it makes so much sense and much of the creation account will appear in your mind and heart.  This is the true reality of Christ himself appearing within!  In the very beginning of everything, God first: “created” the work and then second: prepared it, but the work was NOT DONE or “performed” or “carried out” (to the outer, natural realm) YET!  If this doesn’t yet “click”, please stop here until it does.

The 3rd part of the “doing” of the work would be done through us!  Please ponder this powerful and revealing verse:

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them Ephesians 2:10

The work was created, and then prepared, but we now need to simply “walk in it”.

Powerful stuff!

Friends, God is now making the work appear in this realm and he is using us in the body of Christ to perform it!  But, it is HIS work though and it is really HIM doing it in and through us.  It only appears to the natural man as “Duane” or “Bob” or “Nancy”.  That is why Jesus and those included in his body are still working until “now” this very present moment.  I believe with all my heart, we are now in spiritual day 6 of true spiritual man.  When Christ reappears (and he is already appearing INSIDE US and THROUGH US and IN OUR VERY WORDS “performing” the work) then he will enforce day 7 of spiritual rest upon the World.

Ponder this.  Day 7 is a “day”.  How long is the millennial “age” when he reappears?

It’s a “thousand year” reign right?

Remember what Peter said?  He told us “a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day”?  2 Peter 3:8

Are you seeing how this is ALL coming together?

This special day of “the” seventh day will be the start of the “thousand year reign” (Spiritual Day 7) where he will reign in true righteousness.  I pray he will connect these dots for you inside so we can see the enormous beauty and glory of his plan.  It goes way beyond the realm of the natural we are currently in and experiencing.

Have a great Thursday.
